Application Requirements
Requirements for First-Year Applicants
Applicants must meet all of the following conditions:
(1) Nationality: Applicants must not hold Japanese citizenship. (Note: Non-Japanese nationals who hold "Permanent Resident" status in Japan are not eligible to apply under this category.)
(2) Academic Eligibility: Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
(a) Have completed, or be expected to complete by March 2026, a 12-year program of formal school education in a country other than Japan and possess qualifications for university admission in that country.
(b) Have completed a program at an educational institution outside Japan that has been designated by the Japanese Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) as equivalent to the above.
(c) Be recognized by the university as having academic abilities equivalent to or greater than those who meet the criteria listed above.
(3) Residency Status: Applicants must possess a "Student" visa (status of residence) or be eligible to obtain one by the time of enrollment.
(4) Japanese Language Proficiency: A high level of proficiency in Japanese is required, as all classes and examinations are conducted in Japanese.
Requirements for Third-Year Transfer Applicants
Applicants must meet all of the following conditions:
(1) Nationality: Applicants must not hold Japanese citizenship. (Note: Non-Japanese nationals who hold "Permanent Resident" status in Japan are not eligible to apply under this category.)
(2) Academic Background: Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
(a) Have completed a 12-year program of formal school education in a country other than Japan, AND have completed, or be expected to complete by March 2026, at least two years of university-level study majoring in music.
(b) Be recognized by the university as having academic abilities equivalent to or greater than those who meet the criteria listed above.
(3) Residency Status: Applicants must possess a "Student" visa (status of residence) or be eligible to obtain one by the time of enrollment.
(4) Japanese Language Proficiency: A high level of proficiency in Japanese is required, as all classes and examinations are conducted in Japanese.

Application Period:
Online Application: From 10:00 on September 10 to 23:59 on September 17, 2025(JST)
Application by Mail: Must be postmarked on or after September 10 and must be received by September 19, 2025.
Announcement of Results: November 4, 2025
Application Period B:
Examination Dates: December 6-7, 2025
Examination Venue: Musashino Academia Musicae Ekoda Campus
Application Period:
Online Application: From 10:00 on October 16 to 23:59 on October 23, 2025(JST)
Application by Mail: Must be postmarked on or after October 16 and must be received by October 25, 2025.
